World Series is without a doubt the biggest and most prestigious poker tournament in the world. I guess even it’s creator, Benny Binion, couldn’t realize the status his tournament achieved in 30 years after it was held the first time in 1968 to promote his small hotel “Holiday Hotel and Casino”…
It takes place in Las Vegas once a year, and since 2007 contains fifty five events, of which all (except the “Main Event”) are finished during the first 30 days.
The winner of the tournament will get World Series of Poker bracelet and a money prize that is based on players amount. The culmination of the Series is the $10000 no-limit Texas Hold’em “Main Event”.
Here are some stats for the last set of years:

The first time WSOPE arrived in Europe in September 2007, with London, England chosen as it’s first location. The series had just three bracelet events and the main prize was just £10,000.
