Electronic Poker TablesHave you ever thought how will poker tables of the future look like?
I guess - you haven’t ;)
During the 2006 World Series through a significant but inadvertent error, two million chips were added to the main event during a chip color-up. This is actually the worst widely known mistake ever happened at poker tournaments so that was a reason to keep working on improving poker equipment and the best results we’ve in poker tables development. The last word in poker innovations are RFID poker tables. Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is an automatic identification method, relying on storing and remotely retrieving data using devices called RFID tags or transponders. These table use impressive collection of gadgets that uses RFID technology to track the movement of playing cards around the table. Such innovations provide us an ability to play video poker when some players are located in different parts of the World but they still can play the same game but the main advantage is safety of course - human factor’s role is almost equal to zero.
RFID tags are also being embedded into playing cards that are used for televisied poker tournamnets. This lets commentators know what cards have been dealt to whom, as soon as the deal is complete.
You may find more info on RFID technology at WikiPedia website.

Online poker tournamentsThe majority of poker tournaments are played in HoldEm, Omaha, Stud and H-L games. Online ones take place at websites like Full Tilt Poker or PokerStars, where tournaments are available 24/7. Actually, you should remember that online poker first of all is a money game however in real life some tournaments are free (we call them Freeroll) and the prize is guaranteed by casino… but in the internet you’ve no chances to get cheap money playing poker ;) Some of online casinos are currently offering a 100% sign up bonus so that’s a reason to spend a few minutes searching for the most profitable suggestion. A set of tournaments use just the money of players and another offer a bit of casino’s money. “Guaranteed” deals are those where the amount of prize is guaranteed and this doesn’t depend on quantity of players taking part in the game. Another subset of Freeroll tournaments are “Point Tournaments“. These ones offer you earning points, not money. Satellites - are those where player can use points earned in Freeroll game as startup bonus in money-based tournament.

Double Flop Hold’em

Written on 8 October 2008 by

Double Flop Hold'em PokerDouble Flop Hold’em is played also as well as Texas Hold’em, but with that difference that additional flop is available.

Flop?
But it is not only a flop, but it is also the “turn” and the “river”! Yes, you are right! The normal quantity of cards is twice dealt in order to create your hand! When flop is spread out, that is six cards, three top levels and three bottom levels are dealt. After the first round, when the second round begins, one turn card for each level, and one river card for the same round are dealt.

How much can I use?
As well as in Hold’em you do your best five-card hand of seven possible cards (your two cards on hands and five cards are on the table). In games Double Flop one pack from 52 cards, therefore use it for the advantage. Knowledge of what is in a hand of your opponent very important.

What a wide range!

You can use only one number to make your hand. When you choose - the top cards or the bottom cards, you should not declare about it, and can change numbers on a course of game.

Double your prize!
The winner will be chosen on the best hand from top and bottom of some. You can have the best hand for every one of some and win a pot.

Kill Games

Written on 1 October 2008 by

Squirrel Poker - Kill GamesIf you wish to play in something exotic, try Kill and Half-kill games. Basically, shares of game increase, when someone wins two preparing hands in number. It is very popular game, but beginners can have problems, therefore let’s understand, what are the peculiarities of the game…

To kill or to not to kill?
In order to play successfully, you should understand, what is Kill and when it happens. Kill occurs in two stages. At the first stage someone wins bank entirely (no sharing between players). The total sum of pot should be five times more than the sum of the Big Blind. For example, game $2 / $ 4 big blind is equal to $2, therefore the bank should be not less than $10. If such happens, the winner will receive a chess piece. This chess piece means “Half-kill”. In order to receive to “Half-kill” in Omaha, the player should get the bank (both high and low hands win).

The chess piece “Half-kill” shows that, if this player will win the following hand, he will receive the “Kill” and the bank will rise. But for this purpose, the player should win the bank, which will be even five times more than big blind - the same way as in the previous case with “Half-kill”. If there will be a “Kill”, bank that will increase.

Is Half-kill equal to Little Kill?
Half-kills are offered by various poker gambling websites. They are just played like the kill games, but the full amount does not increase in the stakes; instead ½ amount of stake is increased. So, the game $2 / $ 4 is played with limits $3 / $ 6, when “Kill” is active.

Five Card Stud

Written on 19 September 2008 by

Five Card StudAnte
Each player should make ante before he gets the first card. The rate of ante shows limits of game, the lower the limit is, the fewer antes will be. There is no ante on tables with limits of $0.50 / $ 1.00, and on the table with limit in 10 $/20 $ ante will make 1 $.

Rates

You receive one closed card, a dark card and one “picture” upwards card. The player, who has the smallest card from available should make the compulsory rate, having begun the first round of rates, this rate should be leveled to half to the least limiting rate.
After the beginning of game, each round the best card is being dealt on the table. In five-card poker rates and three increases are resolved. After you have staked in last round, you can either be opened, or throw off cards.

Important: rates in - first two rounds should be equaled to the smaller limit. Except for that moment, when any from players will show pair after the third straight. Then all players have the right to do rates, which can be equaled to the big limit in following round. If the player all the same does the greater rates, it means that rates in the subsequent rounds should be also high. In last two rounds all rates should be equaled to the big limit.

Showdown
The player who has made last rate should be the first, who will show the cards. Five cards are being showdown. The player who, has the strongest combination, wins bank. If there are some players with equally strong hands the bank should be shared among them, and the rest passes to the player, sitting on left from the dealer.

Omaha Poker

Written on 17 September 2008 by

Omaha PokerOmaha Poker is a complex game, derived from Texas Holdem. According to the rules of game each player gets four cards (”hole cards”). These cards belong only to this poker player. Another five cards are called “community cards” and they are being dealt face-up on the “board”.
Each player can use three of five community cards and two of (”hole cards” in order to make the best five-card poker hand. There are different types of Omaha Poker Games:
1.The first one is called Pot Limit Omaha Poker - Each player can bet what is in the pot (for example, $500 into $500 pot).
2. The second one is called Limit Omaha Poker - In this case specific betting limit is being fixed for each game or/and each betting round.

Rules for Omaha Poker
Compulsory rates:
Ante
Sometimes Omaha Poker is played with Ante (more often in tournament games), when each player should bring in bet the certain rate before each game. Ante is not considered the current rate.

Blinds
Two rates should be done by each hand, which refer to “Blinds”. Small Blind makes half from the rate low limit and Big Blind, which is equal to  low limit. Before the cards are being dealt, the player, who was the dealer, should put Small Blind, and the player with it is left from this person should to stake with Big Blind.

PreFlop
The player on the second place under the account and sitting on he left from the dealer, will be Small Blind and should put half of minimal rate of a table ($5 for $10-$ 20 game). Big Blind is the third greater under the rate and sitting left to the dealer player, and this player should put $10, that is a full minimum of the table.

Flop
After end of the first circle of rates, the dealer spreads first three community cards on the center of the table. They also refer to the flop.

The turn

The fourth community card is dealt on the center of table. Rates begin, as well as earlier with blind, and they are limited only by the top limit of table ($20). It is the first round with such high rates.

The river
Fifth and last dealt card stands out.

The showdown
The player with the best five-card combination wins.

Deuce to 7 Triple Draw/Triple Draw 2–7 Poker (Part 2)

Written on 13 September 2008 by

Deuce to 7 Triple Draw is calculated on six players is displayed. In game the chess piece of the dealer is used – as well as in usual Hold’em. The first player (sitting left to the dealer) refers to small blind, and the second player to the dealer refers to greater blind. Five cards are given to each player and the round of rates starts. The first a circle of rates should be started by the player, sitting left from the big blind. Each player, doing a course, can choose, answer the rate, lift the rate or throw off cards.

After the first round, which comes to the end, each player, who has not thrown off a card, has an opportunity to replace a card. Players can throw off any cards and change them for others. The first round always starts by the player, who is the closest to a chess piece of the dealer. The player can replace all five cards or not replace them at all. If the player has decided not to change a card, he will play with a standard card. When the player has decided to replace cards, and he has made the replacement, the following player starts to change the cards and it last until the last player will make replacement of cards.

When each player has thrown off unnecessary cards, the dealer starts to replace them on a circle. For example, if the first player has thrown off three cards, the second one has thrown off two cards, and the third one has thrown off one card, the dealer will replace first three cards, and the thrown off cards will be taken away. Then the dealer will give two more cards, and will take away the thrown off cards, the same will occur to the third player’s cards.

After replacement of cards has ended, the following round starts. Players again have an opportunity to replace a card. After the next replacement the following round with rates starts. After that players again have an opportunity to make replacement of cards then one more round with rates follows.

What happens, when there s a lack of cards?
Sometimes it happens so, that there are no enough cards to finish the round. When it happens, those cards which have been thrown off, are being mixed up and given to players.

Structure of rates

In Deuce to Seven rates are being made, as well as in Hold’em. During first two rounds all rates should be small. If it is game with limits $10 / $ 20, it means that in first two rounds the rate will not exceed $10. In following two rounds the rates will be higher and will be equaled to 20 $.

Deuce-to-seven Triple Draw / Triple Draw 2-7 Poker (Part 1)

Written on 9 September 2008 by

Deuce to 7 Triple Draw is five-card low game. To each player gets five cards and during the game each player should collect the least five-card combination. In game there are four rounds with rates and three spreads of cards. After each round of rates, players choose cards, which they wish to throw off, in any quantity from 0 up to 5 cards and the dealer replaces thrown off cards to everyone. After the third and final round last round with rates comes. The chess piece of the dealer defines rates and dump of cards.

Force of hand
In game Deuce to 7 Triple Draw players try to collect the least five-card combination. Ass play only in high game and the two are for the low game. As you try to make a weak hand straight and flushes play against you. It means that combination 23456 is very bad. It is not considered below six. It is a straight and it is worse than to have AKQJ9.

The best combination, which you can make, is 23457. It is not flush. This hand is called wheel. Next following on force hand is 23467, it is not also flush. This hand often refers to Number 2.  Combination 23567 refers to Number 3 and so on.

As asses are played in high game, the combination of 2345А is not a straight. It is the best Ace-Low combination, which you can collect; it is also called Nut Ace. 23458 refers to Nut 8. Combination 23459 is called Nut 9 and so on. AKQJ9 - is a possible worst hand, which you can make, as your purpose consists in making a low hand. 22345 will be a following best hand after it. Three identical cards are worse, than a pair. Straight is even worse, than a combination from three cards or pair. Flushes are worse, than straights. And full House is worse, than flushes. Royal flush is the worst combination, which you can collect. So, all combinations in this game are opposite to traditional combinations of poker.

Poker Rules of Crazy Pineapple, Eight or better / Omaha 8

Written on 7 September 2008 by

Crazy Pineapple 8/b is played the same as and Crazy Pineapple until when the bank can be divided between players with the strongest and weakest hand.

What means 8 or better?
8 or Better is turned to the weakest hand and means that if this hand exists, it should consist of cards equal to 8 or less. If the low hand does not exist, the bank is won with the strongest hand. The strongest hand always exists.

Low hand consists of cards with numerical value from eight. The player with the strongest low hand shares bank with the player, who has strongest high hand. The strongest low hand consists from: A, 2,3,4,5. Low pair can have streets and flashes, but any pair deprives with its status of low hand. The simplest way to learn about force of your weak hand is to look on two highest cards in combination. For example: A, 2,3,4,6 is equal to 64, and the combination of A, 2,3,5,6 will be equaled to 65.

Combinations of high and low hands consist of five cards, which are combined from seven accessible cards, but you should not use the same of 7 cards both for high and for low hands.

- Players should not solve final item, whether they play for a high hand or a low hand as all hands will be automatically, estimated by the software.
